Before you try something out, you want to see if it's even worth your time which is likely how you ended up on this Stitch Fix reviews post.
I'm SO glad you're here because you and I are the same – always do your research! In this post you'll see reviews of Stitch Fix, and I'll also show you how to get the best Stitch Fix clothes in your Stitch Fix box on your first fix.
I'm breaking down my honest Stitch Fix reviews, some from as early as 2018, 2017 and yes, even 2016. I've even gotten a chance to give my Stitch Fix stylist some work in 2019. As you can tell, feeling confident in what I wear is of importance to me, and I need help with style. I'm so not with it (I don't get out enough – ha!)
Let me share the ups and downs, the hits and misses and everything about Stitch Fix.
My Stitch Fix Reviews with Pictures
It's always when the seasons change that I get an itch to change out my closet. It's March in Iowa as I write this and I haven't a clue where all of this snow, but that's neither here, nor there.
Since I'm not a Kardashian, I'll need to just add a few pieces of clothing month by month, and I imagine I'm not alone in this, right?
Hang along here with me while I give my reviews for Stitch Fix. I even have Stitch Fix reviews men have given. Yes, it's my husband, but for all intense purposes he counts, right?!

What is Stitch Fix?
For starters, back to the basics … what is Stitch Fix? Stitch Fix is a clothing subscription service. Skip all of my words and get your Stitch Fix here.
Prior to scheduling your first box, you'll fill out your style profile. Your style profile will include colors that you love, and on the contrary, colors that you don't love. You'll note patterns you like, as well as your measurements and preferences.
I cannot stress enough to be honest on your profile. This is what will make your clothes fit like a charm.
Once you complete your style profile, you'll choose when you want to receive your first box. It's usually a couple weeks out depending on how busy the stylists are, so be sure to get on and make your profile with plenty of time to get your first box.
From here you can choose to get boxes on demand, or automatically/monthly. Personally, I get my boxes on demand. I like to order when I know that I have something fun coming up to be excited to get dressed for.
Once you've got your box scheduled for arrival at your front doorstep, you'll fill out a note for your stylist. This is also where I recommend being as detailed as possible. For example, I recently did a Stitch Fix Men review – my husband needs summer dressier clothes, so I was sure to let Anna know that that's what his closet was really lacking.
She was able to take that into account and give him clothing options for nice outdoor summer dinners.
Lastly, you'll pay a refundable $20 styling fee. Look at it this way: You're paying $20 for the clothes styling service – However (a big however!) the $20 will go toward any items that you keep. So, essentially you're getting free Stitch Fix styling service, right? Yes, correct.
Even better, if you decide to keep everything in your fix, you'll save 25% off your entire purchase (try Stitch Fix here). This works amazingly well when it works and takes your stitch fix cost down substantially!!
Here's the deal too. Stitch Fix customer service is awesome. You'll still get the 25% full purchase discount even if you have to exchange something for a different size. And, your $20 credit will still apply to exchanges as well.
The Stitch Fix team has always been 100% accommodating for anything and everything I've ever needed. For real – the best.
I'm going to show pictures and posts from past Stitch Fix reviews but first I wanted to answer some frequently asked questions about Stitch Fix that I get most often.
Are Stitch Fix jeans really my favorite jeans?
Yes! Kut From the Cloth is my favorite jean brand. You won't be surprised that my skinny fit reviews are A++.
What I love most about Stitch Fix jeans is that they fit like a glove from the time I put them on until the time I take them off.
And, I don't like to wash my jeans after every wear, as it can mess with the color of the denim (source) https://www.whowhatwear.com/how-often-should-you-wash-denim so these jeans are my favorite for that reason – they look fresh every time I put them on, even if they've been worn a few times between washes.
** PS. If you are a Goodwill shopper, keep an eye out for Kut From the Kloth and Liverpool Kay Stitch Fix brands. Every once in awhile I'll see these brands at a thrift shop and I snatch them up.
I recently saw a Kut from the Kloth Simmons bootcut jean as well as a Liverpool Kay skinny jean. And, although I didn't grab those items, Goodwill did send me home with a Kut From the Cloth cargo jacket for less than $7.
Although everyone might not share the same views on Goodwill, I must admit I'll wear anything from anywhere when it's either of these brands! 😀
Not to be weird, and kind of off topic, but people send clothes to thrift shops for all different reasons other than not liking them. Weights fluctuate, people pass, etc.
How much does Stitch Fix cost?
Like I mentioned above, Stitch Fix can cost as low as free, because if you're going to buy a shirt anyways, then there's no cost for the styling fee, as your $20 Styling Fee goes toward your item(s) that you're keeping.
How much is Stitch Fix if you don't keep anything?
But, with that being said, Stitch Fix costs $20 if you decide not to keep anything. So, if you receive a box in the mail it's shipped to you for free, and you'll ship everything back for free shipping as well. All you're out is the $20 styling fee, which is why I recommend filling out your clothing profile as well and complete as you can, being honest about weight, height, etc and keeping atleast one item.
That's usually not too hard as their items are super cute and so on trend!
If you don't love the way it looks on, though – send it back.
This is a great time to offer my Stitch Fix Review template – Print this out, or pin this to come back to after your fix is delivered. This will help you decide if you are keeping things just to keep them or if they're really able to become a part of your closet staples.
What are average Stitch Fix prices?
The average Stitch Fix shirt costs anywhere from $24-$35 in my experience, sweaters cost on average $35-$50 and jeans are usually $55-$70.
Is Stitch Fix worth the money?
In my personal opinion Stitch Fix is worth the money and the price you pay. For as low as free you have a fashion expert styling you and picking out boutique quality items that are suited to fit you. Where else can you get a personal shopper shopping just for you for as low as free?
This is why I say that Stitch Fix is worth it's weight in gold.
Is it worth it to use a styling service like Stitch Fix or should I just go to the store?
I answered it a little bit above but here's some more of my honest advice.
I shop when I am not always feeling my best. When I'm feeling full and bloated, I tend to buy things that are awkward and hang off my body, hence making me look ten pounds heavier than I am) .
And, on the flipside, when the sun is shining and I'm feeling great, I buy things that I don't have anywhere to wear them too.
This is why I think it's worth it to use a styling service vs just going to the store. Although, I'll admit, there's a time and a place for some downright retail therapy as well.
Why doesn't Stitch Fix let customers review a fix before it gets shipped?
The element of surprise is my favorite part!
Can I share a secret though? Sometimes (only sometimes when I'm really really excited to see what's in my box) I'll act like it's already been delivered and head to checkout to see what's in the box. eek!
Are there Stitch Fix bad reviews?
Of course! Not everyone loves Stitch Fix and sometimes there you can find bad reviews.
Most times it's because the customer wasn't too clear on the front end, though — just another reason to be as clear as you can when filling out your style profile.
If a bad review is based on the quality or snags in the clothing for example I don't let it hold much weight, because the Stitch Fix customer service team is fantastic.
Have Stitch reviews ever stopped me from buying anything?
Nope! That one was easy 🙂
Do you ever see some Stitch Fix reviews plus size (And, what size does Stitch Fix go up to?)
Stitch Fix offers plus size styling (sign up for a Plus Size Stitch Fix box here) in a variety of styles and trends in sizes up to 24W & 3X. And, I've never seen reviews, but I imagine that the Stitch Fix stylists do a great job of styling plus size just as they do with their Stitch Fix Men's Boxes, Stitch Fix Maternity Boxes and even the Stitch Fix Kids boxes.
When someone reviews Stitch Fix, are they being paid?
Stitch Fix works with influencers just like any brand to get their name out. Did you know though, that you can receive free clothes from Stitch Fix when you refer friends? Once you get your account going (do that here) you'll get $25 each time a friend's Stitch Fix ships!
What are some alternatives to Stitch Fix?
There is only a couple of companies that rival Stitch Fix, but they're actually quite different. Le Tote is one and Amazon Prime wardrobe is another.
One of my favorite places on the internet is Reddit. See the Stitch Fix reviews (Reddit) subcategory if you want to see what people are saying (note that I only endorse my own reviews on Stitch Fix, though!)
I do not work for Stitch Fix. Although, I have to admit that Stitch Fix jobs would be really fun to have right? Hmmm, now I'm wondering what the Stitch Fix stylist pay might be. 😉
