A Guy’s Take on Stitch Fix: Reviews for Men
Before I go too much into this Stitch Fix review I have a quick funny story. My Mother-in-Law squashed any future hope I had for shopping with my husband in a store when she took his little nine-year-old self shopping for such a long time that at the three-hour mark he fell asleep under a clothes rack inside Younkers in Mason City, Iowa.
While Younkers department stores are no longer, this memory is fresh as fallen snow in my husband’s mind burned for eternity.
So, here ensues my Stitch Fix Men review. Scroll down for my Stitch Fix video reviews, because sometimes it’s more fun to watch the outtakes and bloopers, right?
What is Stitch Fix and How Does Stitch Fix Work?
In case you’re not familiar with this men’s clothing styling service, and you’ve just ended up on my Stitch Fix Men review by chance, let me tell you all about Stitch Fix.
For starters, the Stitch Fix team and entire Stitch Fix company is comprised of some really awesome, fashion-conscious women that know the trends. Using your email address to sign in, give your preferences, measurements, likes and dislikes that you fill out in a short survey, they pick out for the style fix the most appropriate clothes for you that they think that you’ll love. (We can all dream of Stitch Fix jobs now, right?!)
As you can assume, once you’ve gotten your Stitch Fix login here there’s a 5-10 minute survey where you enter in details like your height, weight, pattern preferences and well your pattern no-nos. Is there a power color that you love wearing? Mention it in the Stitch Fix survey. Is there a color that washes you out? Do you have a gazillion pair of white jeans? Do you hate plaid? Do you have price preferences? Mention it all in the Stitch Fix style profile survey.

The more you add (you can even add a Pinterest Style Board!) the better off your box will be.
Once you’ve completed your Stitch Fix profile survey, you’ll submit $20. This $20 will be applied toward any item in your fix (HELLO! That means you might even get a free Stitch Fix item!)
And, then when you choose the date that you’d like to receive your Stitch Fix styling box from your personal men’s stylist, you’ll get a chance to input any notes.
On this particular box that I am doing this Stitchfix review on, I did leave a significant amount of information. We have quite a few dinners planned with friends in the spring and summer at nicer restaurants in several different places. And, he needs new casual pants for fall.
Some dinners will be nicer than others, and they’ll be in June, July, August, and September where the weather in the Midwest varies so much.
I love, love, love the Stitch Fix for Men styling box that Anna, the Stitch Fix Stylist put together. She listened to every piece of information I gave her and I love that I didn’t have to leave the house – better yet: I didn’t have to drag my husband to the mall (thank God – Ha!)
What is Included in this Men’s Stitch Fix Box?
Mavi Jacob Twill Premium Short – $68
These shorts are perfect and this is one of the Stitch Fix brands that people rave about. They’re thick and the color looks great on my husband! Plus, this color (the tag says they’re red, but they’re definitely more of a coral color) will go with so many colors that are already in his closet, which is even more perfect.
I also love the colors of the shirts that Anna paired to wear with these shorts. Navy, gray, white and even yellow or green will go with these classic-fit shorts. And, of course, black will go great, too.
These are a keeper – but also note that if they were too big or too small, I can select “exchange” instead of keeping to see if Stitchfix has a different size. I love that feature and I have used it myself.
Fairlane Kensington Lux Pima Polo $48
The polo (shown with the Mavi shorts above) would be great for an older man, I am thinking. My hubby is only 42, so this one was a no go for me, BUT after he tried it on… he LIKED it! Therefore, he ended up keeping it much to my surprise! The sleeves had a band around them that match the collar and I guess that’s probably what I didn’t love?
But, since he loved it and felt comfortable in it, we kept it!
01ALGO Jack Performance Polo $38
This shirt is spot on, for my like. This would go great as a stand-alone top, under a sweater, paired with a jacket, with shorts like the Mavi Jacob Twill Shorts that Anna sent him, with chinos or with jeans.
This shirt was a keeper for me, but since he liked the other similar polo better, he kept that one instead – this just goes to show that you really should try things on before giving them the boot!
Threads 4 Thought Baseline Triblend Crew Tee $28
I loved the color of this shirt! Unfortunately, anything that is even semi restricting is a no-go for my husband.
But, to my surprise, he actually really liked this shirt. As you can see in the picture though, it’s a tad bit tight and that makes me nervous that it might not fit for long.
Boohoo because I truly loved the color, the material, and the fit. Such is life.
Even Tide Marco Vintage Wash Henley $36
This shirt was not a hit with either Chad or I. Bummer. The quality was really nice, but the buttons at the top were as little .. I don’t know … teenager-ish for me. So, back it went.
My Review of this Stitch Fix:
So, all in all, I’d say that this box is a hit! The $20 styling fee will go towards the shorts and polo that we’re keeping, making our total just $116, so just $96 after the styling fee. And, can we give a big ‘ol hallelujah that we didn’t have to leave the house? Yes, ma’am!
When we decided on these two items, we simply put the three items that were going back in the paid and postmarked return mailbag and dropped it at the post office. Of course, before that we let Stitch Fix know what we were keeping and why it was coming back.
This is the best way to make sure that you get even better Stitch Fix boxes in the future. The more that the Stitch Fix stylists know about your style, the better they can pick things that you’ll love. And, when you choose to keep all five items you’ll get a 25% discount on the entire shipment – you guys this is even better than a Stitch Fix Promo Code!

Common Questions about Stitch Fix:
Is There Such a Thing as Stitch Fix Maternity?
Yes! And, it’s awesome! If you’re anything like me, being pregnant was uhhhh … no fun. And shopping for events (ahem, my baby showers!) was so hard. And, since I’m as frugal as they come, I had like four shirts.
I would have loved a Maternity Stitch Fix!!! So, if you’re pregnant, or planning on being pregnant, keep in the back of your mind that you can get a Stitch Fix when you’re pregnant.
Are There Ever Stitch Fix Coupon Codes?
You will get 25% off your purchase if you decide to keep the entire Stitch Fix. $218 is the total and if my guy would have decided to keep the entire box of Stitch Fix clothes, the Stitch Fix total would be $163.50 – that means that he would have gotten one shirt from Stitch Fix free!
Hello, that’s awesome, right? So, when you schedule and receive your Stitch Fix, be sure to take into account your 25% discount.
Otherwise, the best Stitch Fix coupon offer that I’ve seen was when Stitch Fix completely waived their Styling Fee. So, the $20 styling fee was waived – if new Stitch Fix users decided not to keep anything then they just sent the entire Stitch Fix bag back with no harm, no foul.
And, since Stitch Fix shipping is free, there was literally no cost, unless you decided to keep something.

Is There Such a Thing as a Stitch Fix Free Trial?
Once in awhile the Stitch Fix free trial is available, but don’t hold your breath, it’s not common and I’ve only seen it happen once. Go ahead and treat yourself with a Stitch Fix here!
Is Stitch Fix Legit?
Yes! Stitch Fix is legit! And, Stitch Fix delivery days are my favorite! It’s literally like Christmas when I get my Stitch Fix delivery! My Kut from the Kloth jeans from Stitch Fix, as is my Kut From the Kloth jacket. And, some of my favorite shirts came from Stitch Fix. They fit me perfectly and I wear them the most out of any clothes that I own.
How Much Does Stitch Fix Cost?
On any given day, Stitch Fix costs $20. If you decide to keep nothing at all that you are sent, you’re out $20. However, like I’ve mentioned, if you decide to keep anything at all that the Stitch Fix employees sent you, your $20 “Stitch Fix styling fee” will come right off the top and shipping is free.
I love Stitch Fix!

What my Husband Thought of His Stitch Fix Box:
What Did I Think?
I was SO pleased with his Stitch Fix. I was glad that there was not only one piece, but two pieces that he loves, and that I love too. And, he was pretty excited to get his own delivery, too, so that was fun.
What is My Advice on How to Get Your Best Stitch Fix?
The more information that you offer, the better your Stitch Fix box will be. And, to be fair, it might take the stylists at Stitch Fix a bit of time to get your style just right. Give feedback, fill out and update your profile as needed or when things, measurements or preferences change and your stylist will be able to nail your Stitch Fix box everything (getting you that 25% discount!)
What Should I Expect in My First Box?
In your first Stitch Fix box, you should expect to keep at least one item to not waste that $20 styling fee, right? I hope that your first Stitch Fix box is a home run, but it might not be, and that’s ok.
Make sure that your profile is as clear and precise as it can be, and that you try everything on. Some things that I thought were not my style have actually turned out to be some of my favorite pieces!

Well, what do you think? Would your review of Stitch Fix be comparable to mine? Do you love Stitch Fix? Not so much? Let us know!
I tried Stitch Fix but it didn’t work for me. I was looking for a service that would send an entire outfit, i.e. shirt, pants, and matching shoes and belt with maybe a jacket sometimes. What I kept getting was just a bunch of random shirts with an occasional belt thrown in for which I had no matching shoes. And sometimes they’d send a pair of pants that didn’t fit very well.
I could easily do this on my own by just going shopping or just ordering a bunch of random shirts online.
Hi Cory,
I am so sorry to hear that. This is definitely a service for men who want something new here and there but don’t like to shop.
