Being a college student is tough. It’s expensive. And, it’s especially straining when you’re taking a full load of classes and you don’t have time or energy to have a job to earn some money.
This is a list of over 25 student discount opportunities and free stuff online for college students to have with their student card or student email. Some of these can even be faculty discounts, too. Geico Car Insurance – This company offers a good student discount which could save you quite a bit on your car insurance. Not all companies offer discounts for students but if you maintain a B average you should qualify. Allstate Insurance – Save big with up to 35% off your premium if you have a child attending school at least 100 miles away from where your car is garaged. And, all those A’s can add up. Single, full-time students under the age of 25 can save up to 20% for getting good grades.
Apple – Students can get up to $200 off a new Mac computer. Even students who have been accepted into a college, homeschool students, and faculty can qualify for this discount.

Microsoft offers Microsoft Office on up to five different devices for free when you are a student. See if you qualify for this freebie on the Microsoft website.

Free TV for College Students from DELL Computers:
Dell Computers offers a free TV with select Dell computer purchases. Long with student discounts, it’s important to note that they also offer military and K-12 grade discounts as well. See all of the Dell computer discounts available.
Verizon – Offers discounts to students, apply online to see what you may qualify for.
Sprint – The cell phone carrier offers discounts to college students in certain areas. You can just go to the Sprint site here, enter your school email address and it will let you know if you quality and what your student discount will be.
The New York Times – The New York Times offers 4 weeks for 99¢ then 50% off thereafter to college students and faculty. Just enter your college email address to sign up here.
Cinemark Theater – Get a discount at the ticket box office when you show your student ID. Call before to assure location participation.
AMC Theater – If you go to the movies on Thursday you can get a student discount at AMC theater locations! Call ahead.
Greyhound Bus – Call ahead to book your ticket where you’ll find that this bus service also offers student discounts on select destinations around the country.
Barnes and Noble – Discounts on books and resources you need for school – items very – call ahead and talk to your location’s manager.
Restaurant chains:
- Chick-fil-A – receive a free drink with your meal purchase at select locations
- McDonalds – 10% your purchase with ID and at select locations
- Subway – 10% off your total purchase at select locations
- Burger King – 10% off your purchase at select locations
- Chipotle – free drink with purchase at select locations
- Dairy Queen – 10% off your purchase at select locations
** As with any offer, be sure to call or check ahead if you’re set on using that discount. Since some restaurants are franchises, they may not participate in all promotions.
