9 EASY Ways to Preserve Your Family’s Memories
First smile, first steps, first plane trip, first vacation. The real problem is that all these photos sit in my hard drive, seemingly never to see the light of a photo album.
Preserve your families memories in an easy way with these 9 great, fun, unique and easy ideas that you may, or may not have thought of. There’s a right way for everyone and these are just nine ways that you’ll be able to use to enjoy smiling faces all around your home, not just stuck in your computer or camera.
1. Photo Books
Photo books are a great way to tell your family’s story. They’re nice for the fact that you can even publish your own “story” with photo captions and more. Choose from several layouts including a spiral bound photo book (like this one from Walgreens) or books that lay fat when opened – most companies offer this as an option.
Another reason that photo books make a great option to preserve your memories is they can be printed using anywhere from 20 pages up to 150 pages in some cases and with select companies. And, to boot, you can print off multiple books with the simple click of a button.

Calendars make a fun, unique way to show off your favorite seasons and time of the year from years passed. Choose a a special photo from each month and feature that as the photo of the following years month. A lot of photo printing companies give the ability to add a photo to signify a persons birthday, special day, anniversary and more.
3. Digital Photo Albums:
There are companies, like Shutterfly that offer digital photo albums. It’s a great way to share memories with family members that are spread around the country and world.

4. Photo Prints:
The same ‘ol option of printing out photos is a great option and allows you to easily (and very inexpensively) print out individual prints to give to family and friends. For just a few cents you can have multiple prints of one photo to use as ra reminder of a special time in yours or someone else’s life.
5. Photo Boxes:
If you’re wondering where to store all of those photo prints, consider photo boxes. This makes not only storing them easy, but also packing them away. Photo albums are great, too if you have the time to put the photos in each photo sleeve.
6. Canvas Prints:
There are LOADS of companies that offer canvas photo prints (some of my favorites include –, –) Canvas prints are a more permanent way of decorating and sharing your families favorite pictures in a fun way.
7. Digital Photo Frames:
I completely LOVE digital photo frames. We have friends that use them all around their house (and they’re the nicer ones like these). These are awesome if you have a hard time switching photos out of frames because you hate the thought of taking the picture out of the picture frame and putting a new one in (that’s me)!
8. Use Them as Decorations:
I have some of my favorite pictures glued onto wood and placed around our home. I did a whole tutorial on my Photos on Wood Planks. (You can Pin this for later here).
9. Photo Blankets:
Every time you snuggle up with a photo blanket with your favorite people pictured you’ll be reminded of just how awesome they are – this is a great gift idea too – grandparents LOVE photo blankets!
