Thinking of trying a clothing rental service? I’m dishing on my entire Le Tote free trial subscription box in this Le Tote review.
In this review you can expect to read detailed information about how to go about scoring a free 14 day Le Tote Trial (so you can try Le Tote for free, too!), the initial Le Tote profile process and how long it takes to complete, how long it takes to get a new tote in the mail and most importantly, is Le Tote worth it?
My Honest Le Tote Review + (Literally Everything You Wanted to Know!)
I think there is a real place for the new fad of renting clothes. I also believe that there are situations where it doesn’t make sense even in the slightest bit.
This post is everything you want to know about Le Tote – my review on a massive scale. Since I’m trying my first box with Le Tote you’re going to get everything from signing up for one tote to opening the box and to the end with sending the contents back.
Let’s start with some initial things about Le Tote.
What is Le Tote?
Le Tote is a clothing rental service. For a set amount of money every month you will get 5 to 15 pieces mailed to your front door.
You can either choose the items that the Le Tote system picks for you based on your profile or you can swap out your items in exchange for things that you choose on the Le Tote system.
Pros of Le Tote:
- Save time shopping/returning clothes
- There are so many clothes to choose from
- There are pieces that are trendy that you might not purchase on your own that you can “borrow” in your Le Tote box
- Shop for events: I LOVE this option for maternity clothing or work events. Think conferences, meetings, baby showers, etc.
- Wear the items as many times as you want
- Le Tote does the cleaning after you return the items (no laundry — awesome, right?)
You can cancel or skip a month anytime you want (even after your free trial!)
Cons of Le Tote:
- Your size might not always be available when you want an item
- The entire tote has to go back at the same time, so exchanging items are not an option
How does Le Tote work?
There are FIVE simple steps in getting your Le Tote box on your front doorstep. Remember, I’m newer to the Le Tote service as well, so I’m telling you the steps as I’ve just gone through them.
The Le Tote Profile Process:
1. Sign up for a new Le Tote account
You have two choices if you want to try Le Tote. Head here to get a free small trial Le Tote with three clothing items and 2 accessories to keep for 14 days.
OR Sign up here to get 15% off your first regular size tote here starting at $79 ($67.15 after coupon code)
2. Make your personal choices
This starts by choosing your membership. Select whether you’re a classic customer or a maternity customer. I love, love, love that there is a Le Tote Maternity option. This service is perfect for a pregnant lady whose body is always changing.
Something to also think about is that buying maternity clothes is never a good investment, especially dresses for events, work, showers, etc.
Select your style of each item:
- Tops
- Sweaters
- Jackets
- Bottoms: Pants/shorts/Jumpsuits
- Dresses
- Jewelry
When you are selecting your items you’ll hover over each item and press on each box that you like the style of to put a faded heart on it.
When you do that this will give the Le Tote system the “ok” to add that style into your choices when it picks the items for your totes.
Also, you can always change your preferences later so you’re not committed to anything as far as any of this goes.
3. Select the brands you like.
I LOVE the Kut from the Kloth brand so I was really excited to see that brand and I also chose Nike and Anne Klein. These are all in the genre of clothing that I like.
4. Enter the zip code of where you’ll be wearing your clothes (or the majority of your clothes)
5. (Optional but recommended) Submit your actual measurements
Before you actually order your box, you’re going to give your size preferences to Le Tote.
When first starting through the size profile I was a little discouraged that it seemed like there was only vague sizing, allowing me to only select from what sizes I “thought” I was — and us women know that brands differ so differently when it comes to sizing. As you go through the sizing you’ll see that you also have the chance to put in your exact measurements giving the Le Tote system more exact measurements. I loved that!
TIP: For measurements, I use an earbud string to measure my waist (or you could use yarn) and then measure the length of the string with a tape measure. This is great if you don’t have a sewing kit with a cloth measuring tape.
Once you’ve submitted your measurements, you’ll see the order screen. This is where you’ll see your free 14 day trial if you chose that option, or other checkout information if you chose one of the other boxes.
You’ll also need to enter your credit card information as a safety precaution for Le Tote in the event that you decide to keep any of the clothes that you’re sent or God forbid, they’re damaged in your care.
After you submit your information, Le Tote takes the reins and will get to work carefully crafting your first Le Tote box.
It’s important to note that you do not need to keep any of these items on most boxes. You can swap out any of the clothing picks that Le Tote picks for you. You have 7 days to change these picks, but if you’re like me, you’ll be super excited to get it done, so you’ll hurry to fill it out once you get the first email.
These are the items that I ultimately ended up choosing to order in my first box:
What happens when my box arrives?
I ordered my first box on a Thursday and it arrived in my mailbox on Saturday (lightning fast!)
Upon getting the box, I opened it, admired my pieces and tried everything on. I had already made sure to note the date that I need to return everything by on my calendar, so that was done. Now, it’s time to wear everything!
What was in my First Le Tote Box?
With the free Le Tote trial I received three clothing items and two accessories. These are the selections that Le Tote made for me in my first tote.
And, here is what I ended up with, along with pictures of me in each item:
Noir Lace Up Side Tank
The Noir Lace Up Side Tank is SO cute! I am a huge fan of white jeans in the spring and summer and this will be perfect to wear on any ‘ol regular day.
Ava Puff Sleeve Top
The Ava Puff Sleeve Top will need to be ironed before I wear it out, but I can’t wait to wear it Friday night out to dinner with friends. I have nothing like it and honestly, probably would have never bought it had I have gone shopping. And, also, it’s too much of a crazy top (for me) to wear more than once or twice, too! So I love that I get to wear it a couple times and send it back!
Noir Sheer Back Wrap Dress
This wrap dress is so pretty and hangs beautifully. I am short so it’s pretty long, but I think I can wear it to church on Easter Sunday, which was my intention when I chose this dress — score!
Now, to get some sunless tanning lotion for these “non-sunkissed” arms 🙂
Octavia & Co Tassel Necklace & Kate Spade Studs
The necklace is pretty heavy and high quality, too! I am excited to wear it!
What is the Le Tote Cost?
Le Tote has tiered pricing that ranges from free to $119 per month (get 15% off our first box here or sign up for the free trial here)
- Free 14 day trial here – 3 clothing, 2 Accessory items per box

- $99.00/month 7 clothing, 3 Accessory items per box here

Is there a Plus Size Le Tote option?
Le Tote sizing goes up to plus sizes, plus there’s also a Le Tote Maternity option as well.
Is Le Tote similar to Stitch Fix?
Le Tote is a clothing rental service whereas Stitch Fix is a clothing shopping service. With Le Tote, you’ll get the best bang for your buck by sending everything back after you’ve worn it. Whereas with Stitch Fix you’ll get your best bang for your buck by purchasing atleast one item from your box that your personal stylist picked out for you (if not all of the items for a huge 25% discount)

How many clothing items come in a Le Tote box?
You have four Le Tote Box options:
- Free 14 day trial here – 3 clothing, 2 Accessory items per box
- $79.00/month 5 clothing, 3 Accessory items per box here
- $99.00/month 7 clothing, 3 Accessory items per box here

Overall, is Le Tote worth it?
Yes. Le Tote is worth it. But, in my opinion, only for certain people. First off, and most importantly, it has to work with your budget.
When you’ve decided that Le Tote works with your budget, it’s a blessing for someone who:
- Works outside the home
- Finds themselves returning with they buy often
- Someone who doesn’t have time to shop
- Someone who needs/wants new and trendy clothes to wear but lacks that time to shop often
- Women who are pregnant (I can’t stress this enough!)
