Sour creamchopped tomatoes, green onions, and chopped or shredded lettuce, for topping
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish.
Combine biscuit baking mix and water until a soft dough forms. Spread evenly in the prepared dish.
Bake uncovered for 9 minutes, then remove from oven and set aside.
Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat and drain fat well.
Add taco seasoning, tomato sauce, and garlic powder to the beef. Stir to combine.
Spread beef mixture evenly over the baked crust.
Combine sour cream, shredded cheddar, and mayonnaise in a bowl.
Spoon sour cream mixture over the beef layer and spread gently.
Sprinkle paprika over the top.
Bake uncovered at 375°F for 25 more minutes.
Cut into squares and top each piece with sour cream, tomatoes, green onions, and lettuce.
Notes
Drain the ground beef very well so the crust does not get greasy. Spread the biscuit dough thin and even for the best texture. Let the casserole rest briefly before cutting cleaner squares. Leftovers keep refrigerated for up to 4 days and reheat well in a 350°F oven.
