I’ve read a lot of articles focused on how to save money when grocery shopping and one of the most common pieces of advice is to stock up when prices hit “rock bottom.” Unfortunately, these writers never tip you off on how to know when a price has hit “rock bottom,” which is why I love the free Provisions app from my dear friend Kelly of Faithful Provisions and Nashville Provisions.
The free Provisions app educates and empowers grocery shoppers by listing best prices to look out for on hundreds of items during weekly trips to the supermarket. I love this because the grocery ads can so often be misleading. Just because an ad says “big sale” or “buy one, get one free,” it doesn’t always mean you’re getting the best prices, so this app is helpful by letting me know good prices.
In addition to general prices on items like ground beef, paper towels and vegetables, the free Provisions app also lists best prices on loads of items at Aldi and Costco too. Items marked with an asterisk list the best prices to be found when the item is on sale and you have coupon.
I hope you like this app. I’m headed to the grocery store this morning and am excited to take the app along with me. In case you missed any, be sure to check out the rest of the posts in my 30 Days of Money-Saving Apps series.

I will download this App ASAP , but I also wanted to say that one app that I always use at the supermarket, or any other national store is the Price Book. ITs awesome because it lets you type in the item, and it lists things by category, and by unit price. So you’ll have your Price book with you at all times, and easily to manage.
I love it.!!!!
I’m thinking these two apps are almost the same.

I just read the reviews on this app and also looked up the PriceBook app suggested by a PP. I didn’t see a free PriceBook app – it’s $1.99 but does seem to be superior to Provisions since it has more options (like sizes). I’m thinking I may have to get one of these! I’ve been neglecting making a price book because I do everything on my phone!
