I first heard about Yowza back in November, so naturally it was one of the first apps I added to my iPhone when I bought it earlier this month. It’s a free app that uses the geo-location capabilities of the iPhone to find coupons that can be used at merchants near you at any given time.
You can set Yowza to show you stores, restaurants and coupon offers that are between one and 50 miles from you. I live just outside Washington, DC, and here are a few of the in-store coupons Yowza has for me:
- Finish Line: Save $10 on any purchase of $60 or more
- Sports Authority: Save $10 on any purchase of $50 or more
- The Counter: Purchase two burgers and get a free starter
You can click on each of the coupons you may want to use or view later and add them to the “My Coupons” tab so they are right at your fingertips when you need them. When you’re ready to use a coupon, just share the coupon code on your phone with the cashier and you’re all set. If you want, you can even track your savings.
I love that no matter where I am, Yowza can find coupons for merchants nearby to help me save money whether I’m at home or on travel. Yowza only has offers for U.S.-based stores and restaurants.
Be sure to check out all the posts in my 30 Days of Money-Saving Apps series. Don’t have an iPhone? I think by the end of this series, you’ll find enough ways to save money to buy an iPhone! Or, you can use Swag Bucks and redeem them for an iPhone (or gift cards or DVD players or so much more!).
Have you tried out Yowza? I’d love to hear about the coupons that are available in your area using this app.
