Crockpot Beef and Noodles Dinner Recipe

It's time for some hearty crock pot recipes, am I right? I love when the weather starts to turn, as it's time to hunker down and have some good ‘ol fashioned soul food. So, when I was trying to think of the best recipes for the busy week ahead, I came upon the thought to make crock pot beef and noodles.

This recipe here is a conglomeration of recipes that I made from old church cookbooks and some serious thinking in my own head. You'll be able to tell that by the many different ways you can serve this recipe. Beef and noodles is so yummy and so versatile.

I am thrilled that I have a great recipe for crockpot beef and noodles, as I love beef crockpot recipes and so does my hubby and I hope you love it just as much when your family tries it – I think this recipe is perfect.

The kids still think it's steak, so I'll keep with that story while I can. They love steak.

But they love Reames egg noodles too and loved this just the same as homestyle chicken and noodles.

How do I make my beef and noodles in the crockpot?

First things first. Start your recipe by rubbing some steak seasoning and salt and pepper on to the roast and then browning your chuck roast in vegetable oil in a large skillet for just a couple minutes on each side.

Once your roast is browned transfer your roast to a larger 6 quart crockpot. I am pretty partial to my Ninja Crockpot where I can brown and slow cook all in one dish.

Add onion to your roast and cook on low for 6-8 hours.

Believe it or not, you don't need to add any liquids to this, you're going to be using the liquid that the roast makes while cooking in your beef and noodles.

Making slow cooker beef and noodles - browning the beef

After your roast is done cooking, pull it out of the slow cooker and put it in a bowl or plate to shred the meat and remove any fatty pieces. Once you're done shredding and trimming the roast add it back to the crockpot.

In a separate bowl whisk the water, beef bouillon, Worcestershire sauce and minced garlic and pour this over the beef in the crockpot.

Meanwhile you'll want to cook the egg noodles in a pot of boiling water according to the directions on the bag. Drain, and then add the cooked egg noodles to the beef crock pot mixture.

Plan about 40 minutes to make your egg noodles. You *can just throw your egg noodles in the crockpot and cook for an additional hour.

I have a personal aversion to undercooked egg noodles so I personally prefer to cook them separately and then add them in so that's the way I wrote this recipe.

Serve your beef and noodles on their own in a bowl – they will be very hearty and thick (my hubby likes it this way) or serve over mashed potatoes (this is one of my personal favorite meals!)

My beef and noodles crock pot recipe in the bowl with bread - YUM!

What do I serve with my beef and noodles crockpot recipe?

My favorite things to serve with beef and noodles is definitely mashed potatoes! Only the real thing, though!

The great thing about making your noodles separately is you can decide how many egg noodles you want in your beef and noodles.

This recipe makes a ton of beef and noodles, so if you decide to serve it alongside mashed potatoes you may want to halve your recipe, have a lot of guests to serve or plan on eating some beef ‘n noodles for leftovers.  😀

Does another cut of meat work with this beef and noodles recipe?

This beef and noodles crock pot recipe is perfect and in my personal opinion, the best beef and noodles recipe there is!

**Sometimes if chuck roast is not on sale, I'll cheapen the recipe a bit by using an arm roast. They're just as good, you just need to roast them a tad bit longer in the crock pot to make them tender.

Can I Make This Recipe Ahead of Time?

You can make all of this ahead of time!

If you are coming straight from something and need to eat fast, prep everything ahead, but maybe let the meat cook all day in the Crock Pot? That way your house still smells amazing!

So yummy! My family loved this! I used flank steak because that’s what I had in the freezer.

Made this today and omg! We loved it! 😍 Unfortunately, I had to use box mashed potatoes but it was still delicious! I will definitely be making this again and again! Thank you so much for a great recipe!
