CVS

CVS is a great place to coupon at due to their great ExtraCare program that gives you money saving coupons and points to use towards future purchases just like real cash. You will also receive member only coupons in-store

This is why when you begin shopping at CVS you want to first make sure that you are a member of the ExtraCare rewards program. You can sign up online or in-store. If you decide to sign up online it may take a significant amount of time to get your physical card in the mail to show in-store. If you'd like to have your card in-hand right away rather than showing it on your mobile device or from a printout, you can register right in store.

Once you are an ExtraCare rewards member you will receive ExtraCare bucks that print out at the bottom of your receipt when you make a purchase. You will also be eligible to enroll in the CVS Beauty Club where for every $50 you spend, you'll receive $5 back in ExtraCare bucks that can be redeemed just like cash at CVS. And, the best part is that the Beauty Club rewards are tracked for you so you don't even have to keep track yourself. And, on top of that, CVS will also give you quarterly rewards based on what you spend in-store!

cartwheel-by-target

Woohoo! Target shopping has just gotten even sweeter! You see, Target has just released an in-store savings program called Cartwheel by Target. This program adds an extra layer of savings to your in-store shopping experience. With Cartwheel by Target, not only can you use a Target coupon and manufacturer's coupon on one item, but now you can also use your Cartwheel savings on that item too!

Here's how to use this program:

  • Head here to Cartwheel by Target and login via Facebook (Facebook required)
  • Browse for items by looking on your feed, your friends' feeds or browse for items specifically.
  • Once you see the tiles you can "flip" them and decide if you want to "add" them to your cartwheel. When you "add" them you'll see a checkmark in the corner.
  • When you are ready to head to your local store you can either press "redeem in store" and print your offers or you can bring up your cartwheel in-store and show your barcode to scan.

Valid in store only. Limit one manufacturer coupon, one Target coupon and one Cartwheel offer per item. Cartwheel offers are good on up to 4 qualifying items per transaction unless otherwise noted. Limit of 6 Cartwheel transactions per day. Void if copied, scanned, altered, transferred, purchased, sold, or prohibited by law. Item(s) may not be available at all stores. Not valid in Canada. Offer value may not exceed value of item purchased. No cash value.

Have any  of you had a chance to use this yet? Let us know what you think of this new program!

make-your-own-wreath

If you are feeling crafty, and want to make something nice or make a homemade gift for someone special, you might decide to make your own wreath! This is a do-it-yourself gift that you can master with just a few dollars and a trip to your local Dollar Tree.

Dollar Tree supplies:

  • Floral wire
  • Wire cutters
  • Flower stems (of your choice)
  • Grass (I chose two packages of 3-4 foot long pieces of hay-looking grass)
  • Wreath
  • ** Hot glue & glue gun (optional)
  • Paint (optional)

Paint the wreath green to blend in with the flower stems. As you see below, I brushed green paint on to the wreath rather than trying to get every single spot. This step is completely optional as the natural color of the wreath looks fine as well. Cut the grass into 8-12 inches pieces. Wrap your floral wire around pieces of the grass numerous times to secure them into small bundles.

Clip the flower stems to make them long enough to secure to the wreath, but short enough not to stick out the bottom once they are secured. The goal is that the bundles of grass will "fill in" the background of the wreath.

Wrap the floral wire around the floral stems (cut from the main think stems) and secure the floral stems and grass to the wreath by wrapping the wire around the wreath tightly. You may decide to go back to the wreath later with your glue gun securing places that are held on tightly enough.

It is easiest to cut the wire after you have wrapped it as well as any of the flower stem that is hanging off of the edge.

Work your way all around the wreath. It is best to save some grass and flower stems until the end to fill in where necessary.

Voila! You are done with your $11 do-it-yourself summer wreath!

** My Dollar Tree does not carry glue guns, but craft stores usually have the small ones for $3 or less.

Hang your wreath on a wreath hanger or a command hook similar to these.
