Staples New Rewards Program (5% Cash Back + Free Shipping, No Minimum!)

Wow! If you haven't had a chance yet to sign up for the Staples Rewards Program, you may want to head over to Staples.com and get yourself an account for when the deals start flying!

Starting tomorrow, March 15th, 2013 Staples will be changing their program to include:

  • 5% back in Staples Rewards on everything you buy, including technology
  • Free shipping, with no minimum purchase (woohoo!)
  • $2 in Rewards for every ink cartridge recycled when you spend at least $30 in ink and/or toner purchases at Staples over the previous 180 days

Personally, I am just tickled pink over the free shipping!

    Am I reading correctly that now they are giving $2 back in rewards for recycling ink cartridges if you spend at least $30 in ink and/or toner instead of just giving $2 back in rewards? I am thinking before they were just giving $2 in rewards just for recycling the cartridges, you didn't have to buy anything. Is this correct, or am I mistaken?

    NEW PROGRAM: When you use a reward coupon for a purchase it is applied by percentage to each of your items. One of my items had $$ in rewards, but because the previous coupon was, in part, applied to this purchase, they will deduct that from the new reward. So beware and make separate transactions when using any kind of rebate/coupon/discount offer. Between this and the new ink recycling program (yes, you now have to purchase ink at Staples to receive credit), I'm moving to Office Depot.
