If you are much of an Amazon.com user (I am!) I highly recommend signing up for Amazon Prime. I have rarely ever paid for shipping on Amazon.com because I am a member of this club and absolutely love the fact that I can choose what I want, click to my cart and go no matter how large or small the order is and the item ships to me in two days for FREE. I often buy diapers, toys, books, etc. on the site and I would imagine I’ve saved a substantial amount of money by having it.
You might even decide to hold off on joining the club now, but keep an eye out because every once in awhile Amazon will offer free trial memberships so you can try it out (and I’ll be sure to let you know when those are offered). Or, if you’re one that’s always a little behind on your Christmas list (that’s me too!) this might be a good program to consider now!
If you’re unfamiliar with the program, here are some member benefits:
I imagine that I am among many that love having Amazon Prime as well. Please, leave comments below to let others know how you feel about Amazon Prime!

I love Amazon Prime. And it’s probably the best ROI on any expenditure for the last couple of years since I have been a member. (At $79 a year, that’s an average weekly cost of $1.52, or far less than a cup of plain coffee at any coffee shop in my area, a bit more than some gum. Well, you get the drift.)
I live in a major city where either a lot of products are not available or not available in bulk with good savings. Plus, when anything good does on sale, it sells out in minutes and you rarely have a shot unless you’re at stores when they open at day of sale (we’re talking CVS, Rite Aid here and Walgreens. That’s all we have and none are within walking distance of my building.)
If you keep an eye out for special amazon sales (or a product has a Subscribe and Save discount), you can really save some money without having coupons (although even Amazon has on-line coupons for some products.
Aside from saving me the physical toll of trying to schlepp stuff home, it saves on transportation costs. Round-trip subway or bus is $4.50. Taxis, which are needed for big stuff, heavy stuff, a lot more.
I use amazon something like three or four times a month, minimum, for various household items (Just had a fab sale on three-pack of Nice and Easy for something like $3.50 each. But there are lots of other deals on snacks, tea, etc. that we use. It’s really a great option (We still shop from alice.com, soap.com, and drugstore.com when they have good sales. You really have to know the prices for what you buy and keep an eye out for sales on these sites. We’ve signed up for all sorts of alerts and newsletters.)
The other thing about prime: You get free online streaming of lots of TV shows (admittedly some are old) and movies. W’ere big BBC fans and they have tons of shows we’ve yet to catch or want to rewatch.
We save time and money and get products we want, delivered to the door. Win-Win on Amazon Prime. Plus we don’t have to pad our orders to get free shipping.
(Yes, not everything is available via prime but pretty much everything we’ve wanted is.)
