When it comes to coupons, do you clip them right away and sort them by category or do you file away the inserts by week so you can find your coupons when the time is right?
Alyssa at Keeping the Kingdom First recently put together a great video of her very organized coupon binder and right now she’s hosting a Coupon Binder Show & Tell (and giveaway!), so I thought I’d shoot a quick video of my own system.
So I fall into the filing category and this has really worked well for me. I have a set of file folders that I organize by date, one for each week of coupon inserts. When I want to find a coupon or find out if a coupon exists, I head to Coupon Mom or A Full Cup to search their coupon databases.
I then keep business sized envelopes in my purse, one for each of the stores I frequent. So there’s one for CVS, Walgreens, Harris Teeter, Wegmans, Target and Wal-Mart. After I review the weekly ads I’ll make a list of the items I want at each store and then put the coupons I need in the corresponding envelopes. Like I said, it’s worked well so far.
I’m thinking though that I may need to take the next step and get an actual coupon binder. Right now I have a small coupon book that’s featured in my video but it’s not really that useful. I mostly use it to store coupons I don’t end up using and ECBs for my next CVS trip.
So what are you? Are you a clipper or a filer? I’d love to hear from you!
