Gas prices are up. Food prices are up. Everyday living just costs a lot more today than it did a year ago. In light of my recent post about
donating at least one item a week to your community, I know that not everyone has a few extra dollars to do this. So, I’d like to give you $5 to make this purchase for a local charity or church in your area.
Each Sunday I’ll put up a post asking for your very best scenario using $5 and coupons shopping the week’s sales at Wal-Mart, CVS, Walgreens or Rite Aid. On Tuesday evening I’ll randomly select one scenario and mail out a $5 gift card on Wednesday morning.
All that I ask is that you take a photo of what you bought using the $5 gift card and either send me a link to the blog post you write about the charitable donation or just email me the photo and charity name. I’d love to promote your good work.
I wish I could say I was independently wealthy and that’s how I’ll be able to send out $5 every week. No, not so much. This charitable endeavor will be fully-financed by the ads on my site. So for every click on a coupon and for every person who signs up for samples via the ads on the left and the right, a few cents to a dollar or more will go toward these gift cards.
Look out for my post on Sunday. Let me know what you think about this idea, and thank you so much for your support and participation. I’m really excited to be able to give back to various communities across the country. As we all know, even $5 can go a long way to help someone else less fortunate.
