WalletPop just did a great post on the 10 Dollar Store Deals to Skip. Here they are:

Toothpaste: Totally agree. How much toothpaste do you have stashed away that you got for free?

Bottled Water: I never buy bottled water so I’ll just take their word for it on this one.

Napkins: A better bet is to buy a pack of 350 at Wal-Mart for $2.94.

Sandwich Bags: 8 cents a bag at the Dollar Store vs. 2 cents a bag at Costco

Sugar Substitute: It’s a little bit cheaper at Wal-Mart or Costco.

Foam Cups: Again, it’s cheaper at Costco.

Foam Plates: 5 cents a plate at the Dollar Store vs. 4 cents a plate at Wal-Mart

Dishwashing Liquid: I spent less than 20 cents per bottle of Palmolive this week at CVS (with a $1/2 coupon) so this one makes sense to me.

Bag Candy: I guess I won’t be shopping the Dollar Store for Halloween candy then.

Batteries: 25 cents per battery at the Dollar Store vs. 21 cents per battery at Wal-Mart
